The dance centre was originally formed in 1989 by Alicia Iman. Alicia is renowned locally for producing excellent dance material/choreography. Her style is powerful, raw and unlike anything produced anywhere in Teesside.
The dance centre was the first ever commercial dance class in Teesside and has had hundreds of dancers attend the class. Many of today's replica classes in the area are taught by students who have trained with Alicia Iman!
The class is high paced and designed to challenge the dancers who attend. The class is also an excellent way to have fun, meet new people and keep fit. Alicia will use all muscle groups!
Steps will be taught in a professional manner with time to ask questions and get help, once mastered she will then move onto the next set. Towards the end of the class the material will be performed as a group several times over.
Class starts at 5.30pm and is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long (allowing for a small break and warm up). Class will finish at 6.45pm.
Each class is £4 per person and this is paid at the start of each class!
You can wear anything you feel comfortable to dance in! Trainers, jogging bottoms, t shirt, sweatshirts, vests and any form of sportswear is acceptable!
Please turn your mobile phone off on entering the theatre!
On your first class you need to fill out a quick application form, supplying an emergency contact name and number!
Please contact us on 01642 363334 to put your name on the list.
(we will be in touch once the class opens).
This class is perfect for those who are part of our adult dance and fitness class as an extension. It is also very good for those in the Advanced Young Set who are looking to add to their weekly classes in a more challenging environment. The class is also ideal for teenagers and adults who enjoy commercial dance but feel unchallenged with other local organisations.
The class is light hearted yet disciplined. This class will benefit dancers who are auditioning for higher education and require a more robust and professional approach to learning choreography and executing the steps at a faster pace.
